Located halfway between Vienna and Linz, it is easily accessible via the A1 motorway. The Melk exit is 4 km away, the Pöchlarn exit 8 km. Hotel & Restaurant Donauhof's location provides the perfect starting point for excursions into the Wachau and to the many sights nearby. The cosy guest rooms invite you to relax and feel comfortable. A wide range of culinary specialities is served in the hotel's á la carte restaurant and on the sunny garden terrace. The family-owned wine tavern “Heuriger Haferkastn” is only 2 km away from the Donauhof. The best wines from the Wachau and traditional local dishes are served there. The Wachau Valley is a 35-km long cultural landscape, which was made part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List for its wealth of cultural and historic attractions. These include wine terraces and many castles and churches, including the impressive Melk Abbey. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling, and there are also excursions by boat. Tennis, squash and bowling are available in the Melk Sports Centre, 5 km away. An institute for sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, health training, performance diagnostics, sports coaching and massages is also located there (please book in advance). A swimming beach on the Danube is 2 km away.
